Standard dirty martini

A dirty martini is a delicious treat. We enjoy the flavor, the color, and the fact that our olives are a bit familiar with their surroundings. I've included an option for making this martini a bit more spicy--which we truly love.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces of freezing Absolut or Absolut Peppar.
  • 1 teaspoon of Noilly Pratt vermouth.
  • 6 Picholine olives stuffed with crumbled bleu cheese.
  • Toasted almond slivers.
  • 2 fancy schmancy toothpicks.

The mix

  • Pour your Vodka into a well chilled shaker and let stand for thirty seconds.
  • While counting down, drop your vermouth into 2 frozen martini glasses, swirl the vermouth around the glasses and then pour it out.
  • Shake, shake, shake. About twenty vigorous, diagonal shakes followed by swirling the shaker a few times.
  • Strain your freezing vodka into your glasses.
  • Insert an almond sliver into each stuffed olive and spear 3 per toothpick.
  • Spear your olives and gently slide them into the glass.
  • Sip the goodness and be proud!

Feel free to substitute the almond/bleu cheese stuffed olives with jalapeno stuffed olives when mixing this drink with Absolut Peppar. It's a wonderful appetite whetter.
