Black Eye'd Pea martini

Another recipe with Blavod. I have to take a moment to explain that this mysterious and perfect vodka is infused with an herb called Catechu, which causes the black color. It is an unusual and wonderful vodka. We have several bottles of Blavod on call 24-7.

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces of freezing Blavod black vodka.
  • 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder.
  • 1 tablespoon of dry vermouth.
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lime juice.
  • 2 pitted black olives.
  • 2 unsalted, shelled peanuts.

The mix

  • Pour your vodka and vermouth into a shaker 3/4 full with cracked ice.
  • Pour in your garlic powder while you stir.
  • Add your vermouth and lemon juice.
  • Lid your shaker and swirl for a minute.
  • Stuff each olive with a peanut.
  • Strain your cocktail into two frozen martini glasses.
  • Plop (yes, "plop") an olive into each glass.
  • Take a moment to marvel at the miracle you've created.
  • Wouldnt a Tito Puente jam sound pretty good right now?
